Exhibition: ‘The Magic of Hand-Blown Coloured Glass’

With the exhibition “The Magic of Hand-Blown Colored Glass”, the Gallery at Schlossbergtor in Voitsberg presents works by glass artist Heinz Strasser. From July 10 to August 31, 2026, handcrafted glass objects will be the focus, showcasing the impressive creative possibilities of the material glass.

The opening will take place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Gallery at Schlossbergtor in Voitsberg. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the diversity of contemporary glass art and the fascinating possibilities of hand-blown colored glass.

Heinz Strasser hails from Södingberg and ultimately found his way to glass design through painting. After intensive engagement with painting, he further developed his passion for the material glass together with Prof. Franz Weibl. He mastered his own skills in working with hot glass and continues to experiment with shapes and colors to this day. His works are characterized by vibrant colors, individual design, and the combination of craftsmanship with artistic creativity.

The exhibition offers insights into hand-blown vases, bowls, and other glass objects, whose impact arises from the interplay of chemistry, physics, and craftsmanship. Each piece is unique, shaped by inclusions, color nuances, and air bubbles that underline the special character of the works.
