In the Kunsthaus Köflach, the works of Franz Dampfhofer and Christoph Rodler come together, offering multifaceted perspectives on perception, memory, and narrative.
Two artistic positions, different approaches, and plenty of room for personal discoveries: The Kunsthaus Köflach is showing works by Franz Dampfhofer and Christoph Rodler from September 19 to October 31, 2026. At the center are perception, memory, and narration, as well as the interplay of landscape, figure, and sign.
For Franz Dampfhofer, the exhibition is also a jubilee exhibition in honor of his 80th birthday. The drawer and painter living in Köflach and Vienna has been dealing with a region in change for decades. His works become a personal quest between change, origin, and memory. Christoph Rodler, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and a book illustrator, draws on everyday observations and familiar environments for his representational painting. Reality and fantasy merge to create new pictorial stories.
