During the evening concerts at Mariahilf, under the title "Soli Deo Gloria," Bach transcriptions for trumpet and organ will be performed by Andrew Balio and Anna Ester Petříková.
Under the title “Soli Deo Gloria”, the evening concerts of Mariahilf dedicate a concert evening to Johann Sebastian Bach at the Mariahilferkirche Graz. On Saturday, August 29 2026, the tones of trumpet and organ will meet starting at 8:00 p.m.
Participants include trumpeter Andrew Balio and Anna Ester Petříková. The program focuses on transcriptions of works by Johann Sebastian Bach. The adaptations transfer Bach's music to the instrumentation with trumpet and organ, thus opening up a unique sonic perspective on his compositional work.
The combination of the two instruments shapes the character of the evening: The clear, carrying sound of the trumpet contrasts with the multifaceted sonic spectrum of the organ. The Mariahilferkirche offers a church concert venue that is closely linked to the series of evening concerts of Mariahilf.
