When it smells of fresh wood in Weinitzen and dusk slowly descends over the hills, it's time for the Easter fire on the Krebswiese near the GH Tischlerwirt. On April 4th, the village community gathers here to welcome spring together. The Easter fire & Easter egg hunt is organized by the Feitlclub Faßlberg, which stands for lived tradition in Styria.
Even before the fire is lit, the search for colorful Easter eggs begins for the children on the meadow. Little surprises hide among the grass and bushes. Laughter fills the air as parents and grandparents watch from the sidelines. Then the fire is ignited. The flames glow far over the hills around Weinitzen, creating a special atmosphere.
The Krebswiese, just a few steps from the GH Tischlerwirt, is a familiar meeting place in the village. Here, everyone knows each other; conversations begin easily. The Easter fire connects generations and reminds of old customs that continue to be cherished in the Graz Region to this day.
