Concert: ‘Trust & New’

The concert series “Familiar & New” connects musical closeness with new sound worlds, on October 4th, and brings high-profile musical personalities to Nestelbach. The joint series of “Music in Krumegg” and “werk.raum Nestelbach” continues its double concerts with an evening that spans between virtuosic accordion playing and contemporary jazz.

To kick off, Bernd Kohlhofer will take the stage with an accordion solo concert. The musician from Eastern Styria is well known to the audience in Nestelbach and showcases the impressive expressiveness of his instrument with a versatile solo program.

In the second part of the concert, Hungarian saxophonist Viktor Tóth will present his “Tercett”. As one of Hungary's most renowned saxophonists, he represents a modern, open jazz style that combines musical traditions with new ideas. Together with Hungarian bassist György Orbán, with whom he has shared nearly 20 years of collaboration, and young Slovak drummer Dávid Hódek, they form a trio with great joy of playing, sonic depth, and international influence.

The concert “Familiar & New” represents the encounter of different musical perspectives: familiar artists from the region meet extraordinary jazz voices from across Europe. For jazz lovers, the evening offers the opportunity to experience two very different facets of musical virtuosity – from finely nuanced accordion solos to the lively interplay of an internationally composed jazz ensemble.
