Concert: Don Cossack Choir

Powerful male voices and the characteristic sound world of the Don Cossack repertoire are the focus of this concert in Ligist. The Don Kosaken Choir Serge Jaroff® will be performing on Sunday, the 13th of September 2026, in the parish church of Ligist. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m.

The ensemble consists of academically trained singers from Ukraine. The artistic direction is under the leadership of Wanja Hlibka, who sang for many years as the youngest soloist in the world-famous choir of Serge Jaroff. For his current artistic work, he is allowed to use the original arrangements of the historical ensemble as a base. This allows the choir to directly connect to the musical tradition that made Serge Jaroff and his Don Cossacks internationally famous.

The vocal contrasts of the ensemble range from powerful lows to clearly articulated solo voices. At the center are the special sound, the expressiveness, and the melancholic colors of this music. The concert also serves as a tribute to Serge Jaroff and the choral tradition he shaped.

Tickets are € 20.00 in advance (municipal office) and € 25.00 at the box office. Discounts are not offered; children under twelve years old have free admission.
