Admission is free, voluntary donations appreciated!
The last concert of "Music in Krumegg" in the year 2026 focuses on Brazilian instrumental music. Emiliano Sampaio's Meretrio expands together with Joander Cruz and Chico Santana to form the Brazilian All-Star Quintet and will perform its only concert in Styria on October 13 .
For more than 20 years, Meretrio has combined virtuosic interplay with stylistic openness and a distinctive musical signature. International concert tours have taken the ensemble through Brazil, Europe, and Australia. The current repertoire is based on original compositions where Afro-Brazilian music traditions meet influences from jazz and chamber music.
For the concert program in 2026, the trio becomes a quintet: with saxophonist Joander Cruz and percussionist Chico Santana, both from São Paulo, the band expands its sound spectrum with additional rhythmic and melodic facets. Afro-Brazilian music and modern jazz serve as the starting point for precise interplay and improvisation.
Emiliano Sampaio can be heard on guitar, trombone, and percussion, Luis Oliveira on drums and percussion, as well as Gustavo Boni on bass and percussion. Joander Cruz takes on saxophone and percussion, while Chico Santana handles percussion.
Admission is free, voluntary donations are requested. Vasoldsberg can be reached by public transport.
