Chamber Music Festival: Passion & Sound
Haydn, Ullmann, and Beethoven fill St. Bartholomew with excitement and fine sound, bringing chamber music with the special atmosphere of the old church on site.
Drang & Klang brings the Chamber Music Festival to the Old Church of St. Bartholomew and makes the evening in St. Bartholomew a powerful encounter with three very distinct sound worlds.
On August 9, the Ineo Quartet meets a space that radiates tranquility and can also carry great musical arcs. This exactly suits the program: Joseph Haydn begins with clear wit and fine order, Viktor Ullmann sharpens the tone with breaks, pressure and inner unrest, and Ludwig van Beethoven powerfully continues the tension with his Razumovsky Quartet. Thus, from soft lines and dense passages, a concert grows that remains accessible yet resonates long after.
Harald Haslmayr's program introduction additionally provides a good access and opens the view on the work, time, and mood. Those who want not just to hear chamber music but also to feel it in the space will find a suitable place here. The Old Church of St. Bartholomew lends warmth, depth, and clear contours to the strings.
Especially in the Graz Region, it becomes clear how well great quartet literature and special places go together. Drang & Klang connects music history, concentrated atmosphere, and a strong regional framework. A concert for all who appreciate fine differences and strong contrasts.
