Chamber Music Festival: Below

Below brings the Chamber Music Festival to a place where sound and rock create their own echo: the Lurgrotte Peggau in Styria. On August 26, the show cave transforms into a path filled with music, steps, and surprising sound images.

The duo Two Bellows, featuring Aleksandar Kolovski and Anna Kolovska, will present the evening as a walk concert with two accordions. Instead of rows and a stage, there will be movement, cool air, and views of stalactites, water, and passages in the mountain. This unique approach makes the concert special: music is not only created in front of the audience but right in the middle of the space and along the shared journey through the grotto. The Lurgrotte maintains a year-round temperature of about 10 degrees, so sturdy footwear and warm clothing are ideal for this concert evening. There are no seats. The approximately one-kilometer-long path leads deeper into the cave, with several stations for performances. Thus, an evening emerges from world music, sounds of nature, and the special acoustics, starting quietly and gaining depth with each step.

Below connects concerts and excursions in a harmonious way and shows how closely culture and landscape are intertwined in the Graz Region. Those who wish to experience Peggau from its quiet, impressive side will find music characterized by intimacy, proximity, and a touch of adventure.
