Cabaret: ‘Therapy Deluxe – Beginners’ Level’

On September 19 at 7:23 p.m., a group therapy session develops in the Volkshaus Frohnleiten among three chairs, two men, and a red refrigerator, which has little in common with traditional sessions. "Therapy Deluxe – Beginner Level" combines theater and cabaret for a crossover evening about the everyday madness of life.

Andreas Ortner alias AndiO2 and Markus Perner alias Der Südsteirer target modern relationships, deep-seated everyday fears, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence. The red refrigerator takes on the role of a digital mediator: silently present in the set, it becomes the counterpoint to human contradictions and the interface between artificial logic and comedic loss of control.

The reduced setting creates space for pointed dialogues, absurd leaps in thought, and surprising shifts between serious questions and humorous intensifications. The audience is also included in the action. Thus, a classic cabaret and a pure theater piece do not emerge; rather, a distinctive stage form arises that examines current topics from controversial perspectives.
