Book launch: ‘Living History’

Fr., 19.06.2026 from 18:00 o'clock

Stories that remain: eyewitnesses from Vasoldsberg provide insights into their lives and memories.

Entry is free!

The presentation of the illustrated book “Traditions of Regional Witnesses – Vasoldsberg” provides insight into the recent history of the community and makes personal memories visible. In the large hall of the Riedisser inn in Vasoldsberg, people and their experiences take center stage. On June 19, witnesses come together to share stories from their lives and provide insights into past decades. This creates a vivid picture of everyday life, the changes in the village, and community life in Styria.

Accompanying the book presentation, an exhibition featuring historical images will be displayed. Photographs, documents, and impressions from the project illustrate how memories were gathered, preserved, and recorded for future generations. The newly published book documents these valuable narratives and helps to make regional history permanently accessible.
Entry: 5:30 p.m.

The evening will be moderated by Sigrid Hroch. A diverse accompanying program offers space for encounters, conversations, and the exchange of memories. Mayor Johann Wolf-Maier invites everyone to experience this special occasion together.

The project was supported and funded by LEADER Hügel- & Schöcklland. The event is accessible free of charge. Public transport is available via bus lines 511 and 515 to the stop Gemeindeamt Vasoldsberg. Parking is available in the surrounding area. The event in the Graz Region connects people, stories, and regional identity in a vivid way.
