At the Best of Poetry Slam in the Schauspielhaus Graz, successful stage poets from the German-speaking area come together with rhymes, word art, and performance.
At the "Best of Poetry Slam," the Schauspielhaus Graz will become a stage for some of the most successful slam poets from the German-speaking region. On December 29, 2026, and April 10, 2027, texts, language, and performance will be at the center from 7:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Poetry Slam thrives on the direct encounter between artists and the audience. Whether rhymed, rapped, whispered, shouted, read, or presented freely – the form is open as long as the given time limit is respected. Ultimately, it is the audience that determines the winner. The program ranges from witty wordplay and pointed observations to poetic and rhythmic moments on stage.
For the edition at the Schauspielhaus Graz, Sebastian 23 from Bochum, Bas Böttcher from Berlin, and Vali Georgieva, Styrian champion 2026, are announced. Christoph Steiner and Yannick Steinkellner will host the evening. Both are from Graz and are themselves successful slam poets.
The event takes place at the Schauspielhaus Graz, Hofgasse 11. Tickets are available through the ticket center of the Bühnen Graz .
