Alpine experience at the Stubalm ‘Junge Wilde’
The young Lipizzaner stallions spend the summer on the Stubalm, gathering strength, experience, and sure-footedness amidst vast alpine meadows.
When summer bathes the Stubalm in lush green, the meadow belongs to the "Young Wild Ones". At the Stubalm Alpine Experience "Young Wild Ones", 1 to 3-year-old Lipizzaner stallions spend their important developmental time at around 1,500 meters above sea level in Styria. Here, near Kemetberg 58, 8591 Kemetberg, they learn step by step what constitutes a safe horse life. The uneven terrain with meadows, stones, and gentle slopes strengthens tendons and ligaments. Every step is taken with more awareness. Every day brings something new.
Fresh alpine grasses and savory herbs are on the menu every day. The young stallions playfully measure their strength, observe one another, and grow together as a herd. These months shape them – calm, natural, and far from stable life in Piber.
During the alpine tours in July and August, every Wednesday and Saturday at 7:00 PM, there are honest insights into the rearing of the Lipizzaner horses. Interesting facts about husbandry, development, and life on the alpine pasture make the evening particularly engaging. The alpine experience takes place only in good weather. Dogs are not allowed!
