Advent at the Tailor’s
During Advent in the tailor shop in Koeflach, beloved traditional costumes receive new perspectives. With creative upcycling ideas, tips from the seamstresses, and pre-Christmas coziness.
Admission is free!
The favorite dirndl has already accompanied many beautiful occasions, the traditional jacket has been hanging in the closet for years, or a high-quality traditional piece could use a fresh boost? At “Advent in the Schneiderei” of Trachten Pachatz in Köflach, everything revolves around giving beloved pieces a new look with creative ideas.
On November 20 and 21, 2026, the seamstresses of Trachten Pachatz will be on hand with their expertise and practical tips. Locals and guests are invited to bring their own traditional pieces and discover new possibilities for design together with the experts. Often, it is small changes that can give a familiar piece of clothing an entirely new character.
The focus is on the joy of traditional tailoring, the conscious handling of high-quality materials, and creative upcycling ideas. Because a good traditional piece deserves to be worn for a long time and rediscovered again and again.
The Kremser-Greitbauer wine tavern provides a cozy pre-Christmas atmosphere. Additionally, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Trachtenmanufaktur Kiegerl, a Wenger dirndl and a Kaiseralm jacket for men will be raffled off.
Thus, Advent in the Schneiderei combines appreciation for traditional folk costumes with fresh ideas and anticipation for the Advent season.
Köflach is accessible by public transport.
