What guests can look forward to
Among the highlights of Styria’s many attractions, the Lurgrotte stands out prominently. It is the largest and most beautiful show cave in Styria, captivating visitors with its fascinating stalactite formations, underground waterways, and a guided route stretching two kilometers in length. During the winter months—provided there is no risk of flooding—an adventure tour allows visitors to venture up to four kilometers deep into the cave, where they can discover spectacular dripstone formations, potholes, sinter curtains, subterranean canyons, climbing passages, vast chambers, and winding tunnels. The journey also includes abseiling into dark gorges and crossing the crystal-clear Zierhut Lake.
Alongside the Lurgrotte, the Mur Cycle Path is another major attraction for nature lovers. Cyclists frequently use it for excursions to Graz or northward toward Frohnleiten, Bruck an der Mur, or the Bärenschützklamm gorge. Beyond this, Peggau is a cultural landscape rich in caves that were already inhabited in prehistoric times. The Repolust Cave, renowned for its prehistoric settlement finds, plays an important role in archaeology.
