The hike starts at the Oskar Schauer Haus / Sattelhaus. Follow hiking trail 505 towards Gaberl in a northwesterly direction, initially along a broad forest road. Passing the source area of the Katzbach, the route continues on a forest trail to an alpine meadow. Cross the meadow to reach the Stierkreuz after around 45 minutes.

At Stierkreuz, turn sharply right onto trail 547a towards Terenbachalm. The trail follows the pasture fence and climbs more steeply through a shady forest section. After around 20 minutes, the terrain becomes gentler again. Continue along the ridge trail across Terenbachalm. After about 1.5 hours, you reach the area of the Christusstatue, located around 100 m from the trail.

Continue along the ridge trail over the gentle alpine paths of the Terenbachalm. The route follows the “Schneid” through alpine vegetation and climbs gently above the tree line towards the Terenbachalm summit cross.

The descent then leads to the Zeißmannhütte. The hut is not staffed, but the area is suitable for a break with views across the surrounding landscape. Spring water is available at the natural fountain. For the return journey, follow trail 505 along the forest road back to the Oskar Schauer Haus / Sattelhaus. The complete hike takes around four hours including breaks.

Don’t miss Stierkreuz, the Christusstatue and the Terenbachalm summit cross. Finish with refreshments at the Oskar Schauer Haus / Sattelhaus.
Unfortunately, the starting point is not accessible by public transport.
