This hike connects Graz-Gösting with Gratwein-Straßengel, leading through beech and deciduous forests, across scenic hills and into the Grazer Bergland. Highlights include Jungfernsprung, Gösting Castle Ruins and Maria Straßengel Pilgrimage Church. Along the way, there are beautiful views of Graz, the Schöckl and the Grazer Bergland. Thanks to the bus and S-Bahn connections, the hike is easy to do by public transport.

Car: To Graz-Gösting, for example via Anton-Kleinoscheg-Straße.

From the Graz-Gösting terminus of bus line 40, follow the well-signposted trail 563/1, marked red-white-red. A short trail branches off to Jungfernsprung, after which the route continues to Gösting Castle Ruins and St. Annen Bründl.

At St. Annen Bründl, follow the route towards Straßengel on trail 563/1 to Steinkogelsattel. Here, change to trail no. 1. Stay on trail no. 1 after the turn-off to Frauenkogel and follow the partly steep descent to Judendorf-Straßengel cemetery.

From the cemetery, turn right uphill towards the church hill and Maria Straßengel Pilgrimage Church. Descend the stairs beside the parish house to Grazer Straße and continue to the main square. The route then passes through the park and ends at Judendorf-Straßengel S-Bahn station.

Take the detour to Jungfernsprung at Gösting Castle Ruins for unique photo opportunities. Visit Maria Straßengel Pilgrimage Church inside as well.
Bus: Graz city buses, Graz Linien 40, 48 and 65, Gösting terminus.
Train: S-Bahn line S1 between Graz and Bruck/Mur, Judendorf-Straßengel station.

The hike can be done in either direction. The entire route is within zone 101.
Limited public parking is available in the Graz-Gösting area, for example on Straßengelstraße. Please keep residential driveways clear.
