Theme Trails for the whole family in Eastern Styria

From apples to rowanberries, from bees and birds to forests, regional cultural treasures, the history of mining and the lives of farmers in times gone by: the themed trails of Eastern Styria are as diverse as the region itself. They combine hiking, nature and interesting facts with exciting experiences, turning a day outdoors into an enjoyable and varied adventure.

They are particularly ideal for a family hiking day, as children usually want to experience more than simply walking. The themed trails offer interesting information points, observation towers, sound installations, fountains, Kneipp facilities and interactive games, ensuring plenty of variety along the way.

Many of the trails can also be combined with a visit to a local attraction. The Bird Themed Trail starts in Pöllau, passing the magnificent collegiate church and castle park. The Tramway Hiking Trail – In the Sign of the Apple leads past the “House of the Apple”. And along the Rowanberry Panorama Trail in St. Kathrein am Offenegg, visitors can combine their hike with a visit to the Sulamith Garden or the Graf Distillery.
