Medium-difficulty bike tour from Murau into the Rantental valley, via Freiberg and Hinterberg. Here you can also make a short detour to the Draunigl peak on foot.
The mountain bike promises very many natural scenery and a picturesque landscape panorama. Especially the path through the forest from Murau towards Ranten invites you to linger and enjoy. Start cycling and explore the Murau region - that's the motto!

Coming from Judenburg, drive via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here, turn right towards Murau. In Murau, take the third exit at the first roundabout and drive to the train station.
Coming from Tamsweg, drive via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) to Murau. Take the first exit at the second roundabout and drive to the train station.
Coming from Tamsweg, drive via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) to Murau. Take the first exit at the second roundabout and drive to the train station.
From the starting point at Murau station, cross the station bridge, past Schillerplatz in a northerly direction to the second double traffic circle. Take the second exit on the right towards Ranten. Follow the Rantenradweg R 63 to the power plant. Turn left here, past the execution site (gallows) over the Kulmhammer. There you turn left again in the direction of Tratten, where you leave the Rantenradweg R63 to the right. Cross the Ranten bridge to the main road and turn right. After 100m you turn off in the direction of Freiberg. Here begins the moderate mountain stretch to the highest bike point (1,382m). At the crossroads Krakaublick turn left downhill.
After about 300m in the left-hand bend, the short footpath goes up to Draunigl on the right (walk about 10 min). The descent of the footpath follows the route already known from the ascent.
Afterwards the descent to Ratschfeld follows. Here you turn left at the main road. After about 300 m, turn right, cross the bridge to the R63 and follow it to Murau.
Stop at the place of execution (gallows) from the 13th century (High Court).
