Boarding the Murtalbahn
With a two-hour interval, the narrow-gauge railway takes you from Tamsweg, over Murau to Unzmarkt and back. Along this route, you will find many entry and exit options as well as attractions for young and old. The Murau guest card can also be used as a ticket here.

Additionally, the Murtalbahn stops at many stations along the Murradweg, providing the perfect opportunity for a cycling trip along the Mur. If space allows, you are welcome to bring your bicycle, and with the Murau Card, this is even free of charge.

Feel free to use the guest card for an excursion with the steam train, where you receive a 30% discount.

Bus connections in the Murau region

Thanks to our extensive bus network, the region also offers a balance between train or car travel to various valleys and high plateaus. 11 bus lines will take you to your desired attraction of the day.

With the Murauer valley buses, excursions to the next hiking regions are characterized by pleasant travels and stress-free parking searches.

Why are our valley buses so special? Thanks to the countless transfer options between the individual lines, connections to many excursion destinations are possible. The pivot point Schöder offers visits to Etrachsee, the Günster waterfall, Murau, the Sölkpass, and the Stein train station on the Enns.

The towns of Tamsweg and Krakau are easily accessible, as well as the Etrachtal and the Rantensee. Experience the scenery from another perspective and enjoy a ride with one of our valley buses! Tickets for the valley buses can be purchased directly on the bus.
