This tour, featuring a short climbing section rated grade II near the summit, is made for true alpinists. The panorama of the Gesäuse mountains rewards the long ascent from the valley all the way to the summit of the Kleiner Buchstein.

At the highest point on the Erbsattel, you can see the Kassegg Castle on the right and a little later the turning on the hiking trail is on the right.
2 cars for shuttle service would be advantageous
For inexperienced climbers we recommend to go with a mountain guide!
By train or bus to Liezen. From there, take the Postbus to St. Gallen (bus stop "St. Gallen Hauptplatz").
