Rottenmanner Tauern

Hohe Trett 1.681 m

  • From the "Mösl" parking lot in Aigen (approx. 40 minutes from Haus Gassner), follow the forest road via Kohlanger or "Pointner" – approx. 2 hours hiking time.
  • From Lassing – Döllach/Stein (approx. 30 minutes from Haus Gassner), follow trail no. 10 via Schattenberg – approx. 2 hours hiking time.
  • From the "Blosen" – approx. 2.5 hours hiking time.

Rottenmanner Hütte 1.650 m

  • Starting point: Rottenmann – Burgtorsiedlung, via Weiselhube and Scheibenboden to the cableway material lift parking lot at 1,460 m.
    From there, the ascent to the hut takes approx. 45 minutes and can be easily managed on the well-maintained trail – suitable for children and older hikers.

    A perfect excursion destination for the whole family!

    The "Pilgrimage Trail of World Religions" was established in 2004 and is continually being expanded.

     

     

Stein am Mandl 2.043 m

  • Starting point: Rottenmann – Burgtorsiedlung, via Weiselhube and Scheibenboden to the material cableway parking lot at 1,460 m. From there, continue the ascent to the Rottenmannerhütte.

    You can then continue:

  • via the Rottenmannerhütte and past the Globuckensee, or

  • via the Panorama Trail, which branches off to the right just before the site of the former hut.

Seegupf 2.011 m

  • Circular hike from the Rottenmannerhütte parking lot (approx. 1,300 m):
    Rottenmannerhütte – Glohbuckensee – Seegupf – Diwaldgupf – Moserspitz – Hochhaide – Singsdorfalm – (back to Rottenmannerhütte) – parking lot.

Hochhaide 2.363 m

  • Circular route from the Rottenmannerhütte parking lot (approx. 1,300 m):
  • Rottenmannerhütte – Glohbuckensee – Seegupf – Diwaldgupf – Moserspitz – Hochhaide – Singsdorfalm – (return via Rottenmannerhütte) – back to the parking lot.
  • Alternatively:
  • Start from the Edelrautehütte and hike via the Großer Bösenstein to connect into the loop.

Eberlsee 1.630 m

The Eberlsee is located in the rear Triebental valley.
Towering above the lake is the impressive Großer Grießstein.
Like the Grüner See in Tragöß, the Eberlsee has a fascinating emerald-green color.

At the start of the hike, you follow a forest road for about 1.1 km.
Then, turn left onto a marked hiking trail that leads steeply uphill through a water-filled ravine.
The trail ends after approximately 2.4 kilometers right at the Eberlsee.

This route offers a scenic high-alpine experience with panoramic views, varied terrain, and multiple summit points—perfect for experienced hikers seeking a rewarding day tour.

A 5 km toll road (cleared in winter) from Hohentauern/Trieben leads to the Edelrautehütte parking lot, from where it is about a 10-minute walk to the hut.

The idyllic Moaralm, located at 1,536 m, can also be reached via the Triebental.
Access is possible up to the Bergerhube by car.
From there, a leisurely forest road leads to the alpine pasture.

After about 1.5 km, the trail splits into two different paths, offering varied options for ascent and descent.

A popular and easily accessible hiking destination is the Hölleralm, located at 1,445 m above sea level.
From the “Schilanglauf” parking area below Hotel Sonnhof, follow the Central Alpine long-distance trail in the direction of the Edelrautehütte.
After about 3 km, a marked trail branches off leading to the Hölleralm.
