The Graz National Theatre (built in 1825) is the third-largest spoken theatre stage in Austria. It is located in the centre of Graz, in the centre of Europe. And in the centre of the building are three venues: HOUSE ONE (the big house), HOUSE TWO (the middle stage) and HOUSE THREE (the smallest stage room).
Classics, premieres and debuts are performed here every season with a focus on new drama, musical productions and an extensive additional programme. The play season runs from September to June. The theatre goes on summer break during July and August. With the 2015/2016 season, Iris Laufenberg, who was previously the theatre director at the Bern Concert Theatre and head of the Berlin Theatertreffen, took over the directorship at the Graz National Theatre.
