Who says that cultural highlights can only be found indoors? Whether it’s the birds of prey air show at Oberkapfenberg Castle  or the kilometre-long stage at Theatererlebnisweg: Styria offers numerous open-air attractions surrounded by picturesque landscapes that are just perfect for broadening your cultural horizon.

Kulturhauptstadt Graz erleben

Graz boasts a varied mixture of cultural highlights and is always worth a visit. In 2003, it was even named European Capital of Culture. Today, the city still lives up to this title – thanks to a multitude of museums, exhibitions and other attractions. Who knows, maybe you will even uncover some hidden talents at Graz National Theatre?

Young Styria tips:

  • Schlossberg hill is a must-see on every school trip to Graz. Find out about its fascinating history and its importance for the city at the museum. Plus, there are special guided tours, workshops and project days for school and youth groups.
  • Don’t miss the chance to hop on the tram at a stop marked with the “Altstadt-Bim” sticker! It’s a perfect way to see the city’s world-famous sights – and the ride is free between Hauptplatz and Jakominiplatz plus an additional stop in both directions.
