What wild, brave guys they were - in 1907, a handful of adventurous men set out to build the very first refuge here on Hauser Kaibling. Back then, they laid the foundation for today's skiing and hiking paradise.
On the themed hiking trail "In the footsteps of the pioneers" on Hauser Kaibling you can virtually hike into the past. From the Quattralpina mountain station (Krummholzhütte) to the 8-seater cable car mountain station, you will dive into the more than 100-year-old history of Hauser Kaibling. Packed in exciting short stories, you will learn everything about the first hut, the construction of the first cable car and how it came to be that you can now float up to the Hauser Kaibling with gondolas.

Ennstalbundesstraße (B320) - Haus im Ennstal: valley station Hauser Kaibling cable car (directly next to the main road)
The themed hiking trail "In the footsteps of the pioneers" on Hauser Kaibling leads along the Ernest-Reitzner trail no. 780. The trail can be walked downhill or uphill.
- Downhill: Quattralpina mountain station (the trail starts right next to the Krummholzhütte) to the middle station.
- Uphill: 8-seater gondola top station (the trail starts at the Schmiedhütte) to the Quattralpina top station (Krummholzhütte).
On the Ernest-Reitzner trail (No. 780) you can also hike even further to the Schladminger Tauern cable car valley station.
