Bärnbach parish garden

In the north of the famous Hundertwasser church St. Barbara, the parish garden Bärnbach unfolds as a lovingly designed retreat that harmoniously combines nature, spirituality, and garden art. Gently laid out and shaped by blooming plants, fragrant herbs, and thoughtful compositions, the garden impressively reflects central moments of Christ's life.

Roses symbolize the Annunciation to Mary, a radiant elm marks the birth of Christ. Blue flowers evoke the Sea of Galilee, white plants remind us of the angels at the tomb, and colorful flowers hint at the promised eternal life. Supported by biblical texts on discreet plaques, a poetic walk emerges that connects nature and faith.

With the changing of the seasons, the garden constantly reveals new aspects, without losing its calm aura. Its vibrant dynamics form a conscious contrast to the powerful architecture of the church. The parish garden Bärnbach is a place where plants tell stories, colors carry meaning, and a quiet stay transforms into a deep, sensual experience.
