More information
As this is a point-to-point hike, travelling by public transport is recommended. Alternatively, park at Kalsdorf or Graz Airport-Feldkirchen railway station (P&R) and use S-Bahn line 1 for the return journey.
From Kalsdorf railway station, the route leads through the town centre and past Schutzengeldorf to the bridge across the Mur River. After crossing the bridge, turn left and follow the Mur upstream on a wide gravel path. There is a picnic area at the Aumühle oxbow lake. After bypassing a quiet zone, the trail briefly crosses open terrain before returning to the river.
Continue along woodland trails to Gössendorf power station. Cross the Mur there and follow the route past the fish migration facility towards Feldkirchen. The final section leads to Graz Airport-Feldkirchen railway station. The hike can also be walked in the opposite direction.
