Between Schöckl and Hochtrötsch, the rolling terrain around Semriach unfolds. This hike gives a clear impression of the quiet, small-scale cultural landscape and opens wide views to the surrounding peaks and the nearby Almenland region.

This circular hike north of Semriach is shaped by a well-kept cultural landscape and wide views. The route follows a varied mix of natural paths and quiet minor roads and reaches elevations above 1000 meters without aiming for a classic summit. Passing old houses, small farms and several organic operations, the area presents itself in its original, small-scale structure, with meadows interspersed by mixed forests creating a calm and open landscape.

Wide views repeatedly open towards the nearby Almenland around Fladnitz and Passail, while the panorama of the Schöckl accompanies the route over long sections. Near Zottlerhof, a rest area with a viewing bench, panorama board and a tree horoscope trail offers a suitable place for a break.

The gently rolling, open terrain conveys a strong sense of space and quiet throughout and provides an authentic impression of the agricultural character of Semriach.

From the information board at Zehenthof, the route heads north. Following the signs “Boden–Rechbergkogel–Greithweg”, it leads along minor roads past farmhouses and scattered homes, gently ascending through open rolling terrain. Before the farm Hans im Eck, the trail turns right and continues uphill on forest tracks to an abandoned house and a weekend cabin at the forest edge. The highest point of the loop is reached in this area.

Passing the junction to the viewpoint “Hochschwabblick”, the route continues with slight ups and downs over meadow paths as well as gravel and asphalt roads to a few houses, then across a meadow to Zottlerhof with its herb trail, tree horoscope and rest area. The route then descends gradually via road and forest sections to the farm Grabenweber and the valley floor of the Lurbach. The final ascent follows minor roads back to the starting point at Zehenthof.
