Experience the Styrian autumn '26 in the Graz experience region – art that moves and touches.

For decades, the festival has showcased high-quality productions and projects from all fields of contemporary art. At the center of the program is the interplay of music, performance, visual arts, literature, and new media.

The 59th edition of the festival is titled Red Flags. In the dating world, this term serves as an early warning system. At the same time, it is also seen as a warning sign for any deviation from prescribed ideological lines. Where caution becomes the norm, open discourse is avoided. Steirischer Herbst ’26 stands in opposition to this tendency and addresses pressing issues of our time. From September 24 to October 18, audiences in Graz and Styria can expect moving performances, stimulating discussions, and an exhibition in an empty tavern that illustrates how global conflicts penetrate the private sphere. As every year, there are also the festivals-within-the-festival ORF musikprotokoll and Out of Joint, as well as a packed partner program from local institutions.
