Sommerserenaden Graz: Don Giovanni

The Summer Serenades Graz represent imaginative, entertaining, and also acrobatically artistic productions of operas, plays, and classical works combined with exquisite culinary experiences in a romantic garden. The Summer Serenades were founded in 2007 by Johanna Müller-Frey and her husband Adam Frey. With the Summer Serenades, the audience is offered enjoyment on all levels. In the summer, beautifully landscaped garden on the Graz Rosenberg, a selected multi-course menu is served alongside the music.

In the 2026 Summer Serenades, Don Giovanni is on the program, a seducer and connoisseur. The title already hints at it: Dramma giocoso. An opera that begins with a murder yet is also a comedy. An opera that closely follows bitterness and grief over the father's death, an overflowing champagne intoxication, and a catalog of women written down, thereby uniting all aspects of the human psyche. Johanna Müller-Frey immerses herself in her staging into the characters, addresses their emotions, and connects them with Don Giovanni's vibrant zest for life just before his death.

The cuisine – fiery, Spanish, and featuring a wide range of Southern spices. Adam Frey and his team utilize the entire flavor spectrum of Mediterranean cuisine and offer the audience a juicy, intense menu alongside the thrilling opera – an evening of sensory delight in the style of Don Giovanni: Viva la libertá!

And the Serenade Ensemble, consisting of musicians from the Graz Opera, Orchestra Recreation, and the Klagenfurt City Theatre. 

Doors and box office open at 6:15 p.m. Performance begins at 7:30 p.m. (Meerscheinschlössl 7:00 p.m.)
In case of bad weather, the performance will take place in the Meerscheinschlössl. Information about the venue will be recorded on the mailbox from 5:00 p.m.
