Reinthal Castle Games: ‘A Tangled History’

Premiere on January 23rd at 7:30 PM at Taggerhof: In Alfred Haidacher's production of the British comedy “In a Bind or Caught Off Guard” by Derek Benfield, chaos is guaranteed.

The charming older gentleman Phil, a regular on the buses in Graz, regularly falls in love with young ladies. That he is married seems to bother him little. His ability to keep track of his numerous affairs has long since faded, and one embarrassing situation leads to another. Luckily, there is his best friend George. He helps Phil out of trouble not entirely selflessly, as he too has his eyes on Phil's wife Maggie. But this time it's getting tight: Phil plans to marry his new flame Julie, and quite close to his marital home. While Maggie knows nothing of this, the always open front door creates additional complications: neighbors, acquaintances, and former affairs all burst unexpectedly onto the scene. Thus unfolds a fast-paced game full of misunderstandings, lies, and surprises. The comedy thrives on precise timing and punchy dialogues that are perfectly at home in Styria.
