Recreation – Haydn fun
Nature sounds and masterpieces: Experience Haydn, Bottesini, and Dominik Wagner in Graz
Experience the beauty of nature in the music of Joseph Haydn and Giovanni Bottesini. In the concert "Recreation – A Haydn Fun," the Orchester Recreation conducted by Wolfgang Redik presents two outstanding works by Joseph Haydn: Symphony No. 6 in D major "Le Matin" and Symphony No. 59 in A major. These symphonies are characterized by vibrant and lively depictions of nature – from the gentle sounds of a sunrise to the dramatic scenes of a wildfire. Haydn had a unique gift for musically capturing the sounds of nature, and these works are among his finest examples of that.
Additionally, the young Viennese double bassist Dominik Wagner will be featured in Giovanni Bottesini's challenging Double Bass Concerto No. 2 in B minor, a work that tests the technical skill and musicality of the soloist. An evening full of virtuosic highlights, romantic images of nature, and musical passion.
