Night walk
On a guided night hike at Schöckl near Graz, hiking enthusiasts experience the forest after darkness falls, discover new sensory impressions, and enjoy the view of the city lights.
Cost: € 49.00 per person with online registration
When the sun sets and darkness envelops the forests around Schöckl, nature reveals a different side. The guided night hike by surWHYve takes participants from the Schöcklkreuz parking lot through the nocturnal forest landscape and is aimed at hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers who wish to discover the surroundings of Graz from a new perspective. During the approximately three to four hour tour, targeted mindfulness exercises sharpen awareness of the sounds of the forest, the fresh evening air, and nature in the dark.
Throughout the hike, the conscious experience of nature takes center stage. Without the usual daylight view, sounds, smells, and the texture of the path are perceived more intensely. Small mindfulness exercises and impulses accompany the tour. Those who wish can traverse certain sections of the path without artificial light and experience how the eyes gradually adjust to the darkness.
An enchanting moment is the view of the lights of Graz, which stand out against the dark countryside in the distance. The night hike thus combines movement in the fresh air, nature observation, and new impressions of a familiar mountain landscape. The tour, classified as easy, includes about 300 meters of altitude gain in one direction.
Note: Ankle-high hiking shoes, crampons or ice axes, a functioning headlamp, and weather-appropriate clothing are required.
Crampons/ice axes can be booked upon request.
Cost: € 49.00 per person, an online registration is required
