Graz Summer Choir
The Graz Summer Choir rehearses Beethoven's Mass in C Major in Mariahilf and offers experienced singers as well as interested beginners the opportunity to sing together in a choir during the summer.
When many choirs take their summer break, the Graz Summer Choir brings music enthusiasts together in Mariahilf for communal singing. Up to 100 participants meet on six Wednesday evenings to rehearse a significant work of choral literature and subsequently perform it during two church services.
The rehearsals take place from July 8 to August 12 2026 every Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The program features Ludwig van Beethoven's Mass in C major. The offer is aimed at singers who only have time for a choir project during the summer, those who find their own choir's break too long, or those who want to try choral singing for the first time. Thus, the project combines collaborative musical work with an accessible approach to choral singing.
The conclusion will be two performances on August 15, 2026: at 9:30 a.m. in the Mariahilfer Church and at 11:30 a.m. in the Franciscan Church. Both performances will take place as part of the liturgy.
For interested participants, there is also the opportunity to take vocal training in small groups with Elisabeth Weber for a small fee. Prior registration at +43 680 1236826 is required. Information and registrations for the summer choir can be obtained from Kornraset Narkmun at +43 660 3785584.
Mariahilf is accessible by public transport.
