BLOOM: A tour of flower ecology
Discover blossoms, meadows, and pollinators in the Premstätten Sculpture Park and experience nature up close.
Participation is free!
The Biodiversity Walking Tour in the Austrian Sculpture Park in Premstätten connects art, meadows, and knowledge in a tranquil way. On June 26, 2026, Martina Pöltl will guide through the park and focus on flowering plants, pollination, and the small life among blades of grass, paths, and sculptures.
The meeting point is at the entrance of the sculpture park. From there, the walk leads into a landscape that is well-known as a place for contemporary art. However, this afternoon, not only the large forms in the open air are the focus. Meadow sage, flowering strips, insects, and the lifestyle of individual plants will also receive attention.
This very mixture makes the tour special: Among sculptures and garden architecture, it becomes evident how much nature is present in a well-maintained facility. The established flowering strip in the sculpture park consciously promotes biodiversity. This makes it clear why flowers are more than mere decoration. They serve as a meeting point, pantry, and small workplace for bees, beetles, butterflies, and many other animals.
The tour fits well with Premstätten, Graz, and the Graz experience region, as here culture and landscape are closely intertwined. Just a few kilometers south of the city opens a place where art does not stand in a white space, but among grass, light, water, and seasons. Participation is free of charge. A quiet, precise look at the nature of Styria.
The sculpture park is accessible by public transport.
