Our goal is to make the Graz Region accessible to everyone. This includes barrier-free travel experiences for guests – from arrival and accommodation to visits to museums and restaurants.
Experience Cultural Highlights – Barrier-Free
Graz’s historic old town with its top attractions is easy to explore barrier-free. The Schlossberg lift or the Schlossberg funicular offer a simple, comfortable and quick ride up to the Graz clock tower, the Uhrturm, with its stunning views over the city.
The Graz Museum Schlossberg is a wonderful place to spend time and presents the history of Schlossberg in a contemporary and fully accessible way. The Kunsthaus Graz, affectionately known as the “Friendly Alien”, also offers a variety of accessible features for its changing exhibitions.
At Eggenberg Palace on the western edge of Graz, the beautiful palace park invites visitors to enjoy a stroll along gently gravelled paths that are also suitable for wheelchair users.
Culinary Highlights
Graz is not only a cultural capital but also a city for food lovers. Traditional Styrian inns, modern restaurants, cosy cafés and beer gardens invite visitors to discover the region’s rich culinary diversity. Many establishments have taken steps to ensure accessibility – from step-free entrances to dedicated accessible parking spaces – so everyone can enjoy Austria’s Capital of Culinary Delight without barriers.
Nature Experience on the Schöckl
For those who want to reach higher and explore the surroundings of Graz, the Schöckl – Graz’s local mountain – is the perfect choice. Barrier-free cable cars take wheelchair users comfortably to the summit. A 3.4 km long accessible alpine panoramic trail offers a unique mountain experience, also for visitors with limited mobility.
