E-bike tour through the heart of the Lipizzaner homeland – discover charming places, Hochtregist with breathtaking views, and unique experiences!

Officially, the tour starts at the NOVA Köflach Thermal Spa, heading east in a clockwise direction.

The first stop is the Lipizzaner Stud Farm in Piber, where a guided tour is highly recommended. The route then takes you to Bärnbach, where you can visit the church and garden designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser, as well as the Stölzle Glass Museum. The path continues in winding curves up to Hochtregist, offering breathtaking views, especially from the Pilgrims' Cross. From there, the route takes you through forests and over ridges back south. Take a break at the Schneiderwirt Inn and visit the Kern-Buam Museum, housed in a 300-year-old renovated wooden farmhouse.

From Krems, the path leads through scenic hills and panoramic routes to Rosental and past the Karl-Schacht Mining Museum, returning to Köflach.

By car: via B70 Köflach, then Piberstraße to Therme NOVA

Route:
Therme NOVA Köflach – Piber – Bärnbach – Hochtregist – Lichtenegg – Lobmingberg – Lobming – Voitsberg/Krems – Arnstein – Hörgas – Rosental – Karlschacht – Köflach

Allow enough time for breaks and visits, such as the Stölzle Glass Center in Bärnbach and the Kern-Buam Museum at Schneiderwirt.

By train:
S7 from Graz to Köflach, get off at Köflach or Krems in der Steiermark
Bicycles can be taken on the train free of charge.

Travel notice:
Due to electrification works, the Graz–Köflach railway line will be temporarily closed in 2026 and 2027. Replacement services will operate without bicycle transport.
