A panoramic classic in the heart of the Seetaler Alps. Gentle alpine meadows and narrow trails characterize the route, with recurring beautiful views of the Murtal valley and the surrounding mountains. After a varied up and down through alpine pastures and across open slopes, you finally reach the cozy Sabathyhütte, which invites you to take a well-earned rest.

More information
Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Drive straight on until you reach Neumarkt. In Neumarkt keep left in the direction of Mühlen. In Mühlen turn left and follow the road until you reach the Tonnerhütte.
Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) drive to Teufenbach. In Teufenbach keep right in the direction of Mariahof. In Mariahof continue to Neumarkt. In Neumarkt keep left in the direction of Mühlen. In Mühlen keep left along the road until you reach the Tonnerhütte.
First stage:
From the Tonnerhütte the "Big Zirbitzkogel Round" leads to the "Herter Höhe" arrived on the viewing platform beats her "herat higher" fascinated by the distant view to Karawanken, Triglav, Carnic Alps, Hohe Tauern, Niedere Tauern, Dachstein, etc.
From here you are above the tree line, follow the path, crossing the stone wall and following the ridge until you reach the Scharfes Eck (2.306m). Then the path leads over the Ochsenbodenhöhe and further uphill to the Kreiskogel (2.306m).
The descent is via the large Winterleiten lake to the Winterleitenhütte (1.782m). From here the trail leads along the "Dschungelway", trough rustic aler terrain and very old Swiss pine trees, to the Almrauschhütte and then to the destination of the first stage - Alpengasthof Sabathy.
