A leisurely hike through Mühlen one of the nature park communities, past fields, through forests, and along the swimming lake.

This route offers the perfect opportunity to get to know the village of St. Veit in the area better. Fantastic viewpoints invite you to linger. Furthermore, some sections of the trail are off the beaten track and lead through wooded areas, so you can enjoy the peace and quiet and nature to the full.

By car from Germany
From Munich via the A8 towards Salzburg. From Salzburg on the A10 Tauernautobahn to St. Michael im Lungau. On the B 96 to Tamsweg, then on the B 95 to Predlitz. The B 97 leads via Stadl/Mur to Murau. There at the roundabout towards St. Lambrecht to Murauer train station and further towards St. Lambrecht. Via Laßnitz near Murau you reach St. Lambrecht. From there continue to Mariahof and Neumarkt in der Steiermark. After Neumarkt and St. Marein, turn left towards Mühlen. After the “Kulm am Zirbitz” sign, turn right to the sports field.

Arrival from EasternAustria/Hungary
At the motorway junction in St. Michael near Leoben, take the S 36 towards Klagenfurt. Past Knittelfeld and Judenburg to Scheifling. In Scheifling continue towards Klagenfurt to Neumarkt, via Unzmarkt and Perchau am Sattel you reach Neumarkt. Drive through Neumarkt and St. Marein, then turn left towards Mühlen. After the "Kulm am Zirbitz" sign, turn right to the sports field.

Arrival from southern Austria/Italy
Via Klagenfurt on the S 37 past St. Veit/Glan, Treibach and Friesach. In Friesach continue towards Vienna, via Dürnstein and Wildbad towards Neumarkt. After the gorge and just before St. Marein, turn right towards Mühlen. After the "Kulm am Zirbitz" sign, turn right to the sports field.

From Doblhof, we head south, first along the road for a short distance, then turn right onto a dirt road that leads us into the forest, to St. Veit in der Gegend. Once there, we see the church in front of us and turn right to reach the back of the church. We now walk along this road and arrive at Niederdorf, Pörtschach, and Aich. In Aich, we keep to the left and after a few meters we turn right onto a dirt road to reach the Mühlen swimming lake. We walk along the shore past the campsite and when we reach a small wooded area, we stay on the path to return to the road. After just a few meters along the road, we turn right and walk back along this road to the starting point.
