Panoramic and scenically impressive day hike from the Murauer Hütte to Stadl an der Mur.

From the Murauer Hütte you hike up to the Frauenalpe. Keep right here and continue along the ridge to the Rosenkranzhöhe on the Kreischberg. At the Kreischberg, turn left and hike through the forest via the Esebeckhütte to Stadl an der Mur.

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Keep right here towards Murau. Keep left at the double traffic circle in Murau and drive over the Schlatting to the Murau Hütte.

Coming from Tamsweg via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur), keep right at the double traffic circle in Murau and drive over the Schlatting to the Murau Hütte.

From the Murauer Hütte we hike approx. 1 km back to the Trogscharte. From here we follow the signs to the Esebeckhütte on a ridge hike from summit to summit. Marking 132 leads to the Turnhoferhütte, past the Ackerlhöhe to the Prankerhöhe, from here we follow marking 131 to the right to the Rosenkranzhöhe.

At the Kreischberg we cross the lift station to the left and walk past the Panoramabar for approx. 300m on a gravel path straight ahead. Where this path turns left, we follow the markings to the right on a path through the forest for approx. 30 minutes to the Esebeckhütte. We continue along trail no. 130 and reach Stadl an der Mur after approx. 2.5 hours.
