From the Halserhütte the hike leads comfortably uphill along the ridge to Halserkogel. A very family-friendly tour, which is also easily manageable with children.

This is an easy hike, which promises a picturesque mountain panorama at the end of the tour!

Coming from Judenburg via Unzmarkt to Scheifling. Here turn right in the direction of Murau. In Niederwölz turn right again and drive to Oberwölz.

Coming from Tamsweg, drive via Ranten (or Stadl an der Mur) to Murau. Continue in the direction of Niederwölz - keep left here and drive to Oberwölz.

From the Halserhütte follow the trail no. 11 up to the south-facinf ridge to the Halserkogel. From the Halserkogel continue following trail no. 11 to the Steineck. From the Steineck continue along the ridge eastward to Sandlerkogel (2.186m).

The way back is on the ascent path.

On the return journey, the historic town of Oberwölz can be explored.

Parking is available at the Halserhütte.

The ideal time for this tour is from May to October. Informatin brochueres are available at the various information offices.
