Murau

The Frauenalpe is a diverse local recreation area all year round and is particularly popular with connoisseurs and those seeking peace and quiet. On the local mountain of the city of Murau you are completely stress-free in the pristine landscape. In addition to tours for hiking and biking, the eight-kilometer panoramic road along beautiful viewpoints is one of the summer tips. As a natural snow Mecca, the Frauenalpe casts a spell over ski tourers and snowshoe hikers.

Starting from the Murauer Hütte, the wonderful (winter)-hike begins through the forest area over the Frauenalpengipfel back to the starting point. The tour is also the route of the region around the mountain personality Frauenalpe and symbolizes one of the 8 key offers on hiking in the Murau adventure area. The hike leads through forest and forest paths through wooded area to the Troghütte. This is followed by the ascent to the Frauenalpengipfel or to the Bernhard-Fest-Hütte (not serviced), from there it goes back to the starting point.

From the parking lot of the Murauer Hütte, the path leads left into the forest in front of the Krische Gasthof, which is not open at the moment. Follow this along the signs to the Troghütte (not serviced). Then it goes to the Frauenalpengipfel and past the Apollonia Chapel, the Bernhard-Fest-Hütte back on the signposted path to the starting point.
