Theatre crime thriller “The Name of the Rose”
As part of the 950th anniversary of the Benedictine monastery of St. Lambrecht, the Wandelbühne reinterprets Umberto Eco's epoch-making novel "The Name of the Rose" with the mixed choir. The entire monastery complex, from the abbey church to the library, becomes a stage. The audience becomes part of the story and walks with the protagonist William through a labyrinth of secrets. Dates in June & October are already sold out - tickets for the performances in April 2027 are still available at www.wandelbühne.at.
This extraordinary production brings the Benedictine monastery to life and makes its cultural heritage accessible to a broad audience in a unique way. The theater mystery is a highlight of the anniversary year 2026, in which the monastery celebrates its 950th anniversary.
