Raabklamm family tour, St. Ruprecht an der Raab - Weiz

The Raabklamm family tour can be started from St. Ruprecht an der Raab as well as from Weiz.

Marking: Raabklamm family circuit, R11/Raatal cycle path

• We start at the main square in front of the church and take a sharp left turn uphill.
• Between the church and the fire station, we cycle down Gartengasse to the Weizbach stream.
• We continue straight ahead over the bridge and then turn left into Feldgasse.
• Turn right and ride through the main road underpass, soon passing the Liebbau company.
• We continue along the R11 through Neudorf and reach Unterfladnitz.
• At the crossroads we turn right and cycle through the town center.
• At the end of Unterfladnitz, we turn right uphill and ride to the turn-off to "Farcha".
• Here we turn left and continue on the R11.
• Before the railroad crossing, we turn right and continue to Regerstätten.
• At the end of Regerstätten (at the self-service store) we turn left downhill.
• We keep to the right and continue along Elin-Süd-Straße.
• We continue through the B72 underpass until we reach the junction with Ackeraustraße.
• We turn left into Ackeraustraße and reach Weiz railroad station via Schubertstraße and Bahnhofstraße = entrance to WeizBefore the station, we turn left into Wielandgasse, cross the B64/Gleisdorferstraße and ride up Florianigasse to Marburgerstraße.
• There we turn left and ride along Marburgerstraße to the Zum Tannenwirt inn.
• We turn right up the Götzenbichlweg to the crossroads in Götzenbichl.
• There we turn left and ride down to the orchard on the left.
• At the orchard we turn left uphill and now have the first views of the Zetz, Raas and Kulm.
• We now turn right and take the unpaved but well-surfaced cycle path in the direction of "Bärental".
• We descend through the forest to the Raab, keep left at the small bridge and continue along the course of the river in the "small Raab gorge".
• At Oberdorf we leave the Raabklamm gorge, ride through the village and then keep to the right.
• Before the Raab bridge, we turn left again onto the cycle path and cycle along it to Mitterdorf.
• There we reach the main road again, turn right and continue in the direction of St. Ruprecht an der Raab.
• We soon pass Stadl Castle on the right, which is owned by the Kinsky family.
• We reach St. Ruprecht and cycle in to the church, which brings us back to the starting point.

• Before the Hotel Hammer at the railway station, turn right into Wielandgasse, cross the B64/Gleisdorferstraße and cycle up Florianigasse to Marburgerstraße.
• ​There we turn left and cycle along Marburgerstraße to the Zum Tannenwirt inn.
• We turn right up Götzenbichlweg to the crossroads in Götzenbichl.
• There we turn left and descend to the orchard on the left.
• At the orchard we turn left uphill and now have the first views of the Zetz, Raas and Kulm.
• We now turn right and take the unpaved but well-surfaced cycle path in the direction of ‘Bärental’.
• We descend through the forest to the Raab, keep left at the small bridge and continue along the course of the river in the ‘small Raab gorge’.
• At Oberdorf we leave the Raabklamm gorge, cycle through the village and then keep to the right.
• Before the Raab bridge, we turn left again onto the cycle path and cycle along it to Mitterdorf.
• There we reach the main road again, turn right and continue in the direction of St. Ruprecht an der Raab.
• We soon pass Stadl Castle on the right, which is owned by the Kinsky family.
• We reach St. Ruprecht and cycle in to the church.
• Arrive at the main square in front of the church and turn sharp left uphill.
• Between the church and the fire station, we cycle down Gartengasse to the Weizbach stream.
• Continue straight on over the bridge and then turn left into Feldgasse.
• Turn right and ride through the subway under the main road, soon passing the Liebbau company.
• Continuing along the R11, we cycle through Neudorf and reach Unterfladnitz.
• At the crossroads at GH Heinzl, we turn right and cycle through the town centre.
• At the end of Unterfladnitz, we turn right uphill and cycle to the junction for ‘Farcha’.
• Here we turn left and continue along the R11.
• Before the railway crossing, turn right and continue to Regerstätten.
• At the end of Regerstätten (at the self-service shop) we turn left downhill.
• We keep to the right and continue along Elin-Süd-Straße.
• We continue through the B72 subway until we reach the junction with Ackeraustraße.
• We turn left into Ackeraustraße and reach our starting point via Schubertstraße and Bahnhofstraße.

• Plan your tour carefully!
• Check your bike before you set off!
• Always ride with the right protective equipment!
• Always ride with a helmet!
• Don't forget all your equipment (repair kit, first aid kit, etc.)!
• Only ride on marked paths!
• Observe the road traffic regulations!
• Observe driving bans and keep to opening times!
• Control your speed! Do not leave any tracks!
• Respect other nature users!
• Show consideration for animals (ride in daylight & close pasture fences)!
• Avoid noise and garbage!
• Use the cycle paths at your own risk!
• Beware of working machines, wood or potholes on the road, grazing livestock and vehicle traffic (forest roads are working areas and workplaces)!

• The tour is suitable for all types of bikes.
• Sporty clothing is advisable. Bicycle helmet!
• A first aid kit is always included.
• A basic set of tools and accessories - such as spare inner tube, repair kit, wrench/puller, air pump - never hurts.
• Bike map, pocket knife, cell phone holder for the handlebars if necessary, headlamp and reflectors
