At the foot of the Basilica in Mariazell, the Advent market fills the air with the sweet scent of gingerbread – the handcrafted specialty of this famous pilgrimage town. This year, Mariazell Advent celebrates its 25th anniversary. The spirit of Christmas also comes alive at the Hunting Advent in Turnau, the Old Town Advent in Kapfenberg, the Forest Christmas in Bruck an der Mur, the cozy Advent Square in Mürzzuschlag, as well as at Stift Neuberg and Schloss Pichl. These are just a few of the nearly 40 enchanting Advent markets that make Upper Styria a magical place during the festive season.
