Dörfelstein East Track

Passing the last houses of the settlement, the hike leads through the Geigergraben, steadily uphill toward the Dörfelstein. First, we follow the forest road before tackling the hiking trail in the final third of the route. The last steep section before the summit trail is secured with ropes. Once secured at the top, the proud summit conqueror is rewarded with a view of the most beautiful peaks of the Gesäuse. From the east summit, with views of the Buchstein Massif and the Hochtor Group, the Hallermauern, and the Reichenstein Massif, a narrow path leads to the west summit. The west summit requires some scrambling and a head for heights to conquer. From there, the same path leads back down, or you can descend to Hall.
