The Hiking Trails
With the Zotter Loop, the Wine Experience Trail, and the Sensory Experience Trail, each community showcases its own unique character - sometimes focused on indulgence, sometimes on scenic views, and sometimes on fun - but always close to nature and what truly does us good.
Bad Loipersdorf Wine Trail
Bad Loipersdorf
The new themed trail invites visitors to explore the charming landscape with its many attractions, wine rest stops, and wine taverns around the thermal resort and the town of Bad Loipersdorf.
This entertaining trail offers a wealth of attractions for young and old alike, such as “Austria’s largest walk-through wine bottle” and allows active visitors to experience the vineyards, natural beauty, historical sites, and the Bad Loipersdorf region.
The signposted trail winds through the gently rolling countryside, passing wine taverns and restaurants; the “wine rest stops” along the way allow visitors to enjoy regional products - especially wine on a self-service basis almost around the clock.
Sensory Experience Trail
Unterlamm
The Sensory Experience Trail is a section of the “In the Footsteps of the Volcanoes” trail. This loop trail features 11 “experience stations” and winds gently up and down through the soothing natural and cultural landscape of Unterlamm.
Highlights include the observation deck, the natural pond complex, the 5-star insect hotel, Austria’s largest black poplar, and the Lourdes Marian Grotto.
Zotter-Loop-Culinary Trail
Riegersburg
The “Zotter Loop” introduces you to one of the three gourmet hiking trails around the more than 850-year-old Riegersburg Castle. On the one hand, the route is characterized by the natural beauty of the charming landscape; on the other hand, it also offers plenty of sweet treats thanks to the famous Zotter Chocolate Factory. The “Zotter Loop” takes you through the western and northwestern parts of the market town of Riegersburg, passing the Zotter Chocolate Factory, the “Das Meister Sekt Kulinarium,” the Genusshotel Riegersburg, and the valley station of the Panorama Lift.

An Overview of All Routes
The three certified hiking trails can be perfectly combined with the “From Glacier to Wine” stages full of enjoyment and the “In the Footsteps of the Volcanoes” stages, rich in history. Stages 30 and 31 of the “From Glacier to Wine” route connect Fürstenfeld with Bad Loipersdorf, continuing on to Unterlamm and Riegersburg.
