The Kleinkeuschler & Lost Treasures in Straden

Welcome to the Kleinkeuschlerhügel of Anita and Karl Schwarz-Marberl. Between Straden and Bad Gleichenberg, right in the thermal and volcanic region, lies this special place that offers insights into rare domestic animal breeds, extraordinary plants, and lovingly curated collections.

On an area of about four hectares, the family is dedicated to the preservation of rare domestic animal breeds and ancient cultivated plants. The animals are kept outdoors year-round, and farming is done without the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. They are fed with homegrown and regionally available feed. The goal is to make traditional forms of animal husbandry and crop cultivation visible and to pass them on.

In addition to animals and crops, visitors can expect an impressive variety of other highlights. Over 200 different species of cacti, including well-known specimens like the "Mother-in-law's Chair," can be seen, as well as a comprehensive mineral collection with finds from around the world. The offer is complemented by the collection of "abandoned treasures" – extraordinary everyday objects with history – as well as the Kleinkeuschler nostalgia, which provides a glimpse into past working worlds with historical tools.
