So the "b`soffene Turk" is actually a "b`soffener Croat".


In front of the entrance of the Town Hall stands a sculpture by Prof. Hans Mauracher, which commemorates an event during the war between the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus and Emperor Frederick III.
When Hungarian troops marched against Fürstenfeld in 1480, the emperor sent Croats for assistance. However, on their way from Graz to Fürstenfeld, they sought out the wine cellars and got drunk. The majority of them were slain by the Hungarians.
