Augustini fountain Fürstenfeld
Fürstenfeld
Experts say that the area around the fountain and St. Augustine's Church is an enormous source of energy and that the water is of a special quality.
According to a legend, an old, blind, Italian monk lived in Fürstenfeld shortly after the founding of the Augustinian hermit monastery. Every day he washed his eyes in the monastery fountain and then went to pray at the miraculous image of St. Augustine in the church.
Suddenly, the monk is said to have regained his sight. The news of his spontaneous healing spread as far as Italy and Slovenia, leading many visually impaired people from these regions to make pilgrimages to Fürstenfeld every year on the feast of St. Augustine, August 28th.
